Toagosei America Inc. (Krazy Glue Co.) is part of the Toagosei Group, an independent chemical product company founded in Japan in 1944. Toagosei is a global manufacturer in commodity chemicals, polymer & oligomer, adhesive material and performance chemicals. Since 1994, Toagosei America Inc. (Krazy Glue Co.) has been manufacturing cyanoacrylate (instant) adhesive technology for distribution to North and South America consumer and industrial markets. We are best known for our Instant Krazy Glue brand to the North American consumer market.
Toagosei America, Inc. (Krazy Glue Co.) is located in the Village of West Jefferson, OH, just minutes from the western suburbs of Columbus and approximately 20 minutes to the west of downtown.
Position Summary
The QA/R&D Technician is responsible for performing quality control and quality assurance testing on product formulations for both industrial and consumer applications. This role ensures that all products meet established quality standards through accurate testing, data recording, and adherence to laboratory procedures and ISO requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct sampling and testing of base adhesives, formulated adhesives, setters, and primers.
- Perform quality testing procedures and accurately record and report results to the R&D/QA Manager.
- Enter and maintain test data in electronic systems for record-keeping and traceability.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of all laboratory equipment and testing processes.
- Clean, calibrate, and ensure proper functioning of all testing equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of laboratory and testing areas.
- Perform daily inspections of consumer production (LAB samples), record findings, and properly store samples.
- Assist in maintaining laboratory procedures, work instructions, and documentation in compliance with ISO 9001/14001 standards.
- Monitor adhesive age in walk-in storage and warehouse; sample and test materials as needed.
- Support R&D activities by testing prototype formulations and assisting with special projects.
- Maintain and manage retains for base adhesives, formulated adhesives, setters, and primers, including proper disposal when necessary.
- Manage laboratory inventory, including ordering supplies such as bottles, bags, and other materials.
- Assist with preparation of Certificates of Analysis (COA), Certificates of Conformance (COC), and daily machine inspections.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations and actively promote a safe work environment.
- Collaborate effectively with team members across departments.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Working knowledge of laboratory testing equipment and processes.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and documentation practices is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to accurately record and analyze data.
- Physical ability to perform job duties, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
