The Research Analytical Scientist as a scientist in the analytical team, the candidate will be responsible for executing analytical techniques in support of method development, qualification and validation for the analysis of active pharmaceutical ingredients, raw materials, excipients, chemical intermediates, finished products, pharmacokinetic (PK) and pharmacodynamic (PD) blood samples that supports the development of new products.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Independently initiate, design, and execute methods to analyze samples using analytical instruments such as HPLC/UPLC, HPLC-MS, LC-MS, SPE, and GC
- Analytical Method development and validations for analysis of API, raw materials, finished product, PK and PD samples
- Perform and document the calibration/troubleshooting of instruments, when required, and performing routine preventative maintenance.
- Able to work independently or as part of a team. In addition, able to train team members to cover all aspects of analytical services job functions
- Help with other tasks contributing to the overall operation of the laboratory as designated by the department manager and supervisor
- Properly record, summarize experiments in notebooks and reports and present when needed. Generating, compiling and evaluating data for technical reports
- Assist in the requisition and inventorying of laboratory supplies
- Preparing and executing laboratory SOPs and reports, as assigned.
- Work with other groups in the department.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Masters Degree in Analytical Chemistry or Bioanalytical Chemistry is preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical, governmental, regulatory documents in English. Ability to write technical and non-technical reports and correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with other employees.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to work with basic and up to college-level mathematical calculations.
- Computer skills required. Proficiency in Windows, MS Word and Excel or equivalent for data processing is required.
- Familiarity with national pharmacopoeias
