Job Summary
The Travel Oncology Registered Nurse provides specialized nursing care to oncology patients across various healthcare facilities on short-term assignments. This role requires strong clinical oncology experience, adaptability to new environments, and the ability to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to patients undergoing cancer treatment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, blood products, and supportive medications per protocol
- Monitor patients for treatment reactions, side effects, and complications
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document care accurately
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, symptom management, and self-care
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and multidisciplinary care teams
- Manage central lines, ports, and infusion devices
- Adhere to safety standards, infection control policies, and oncology best practices
- Respond promptly to patient emergencies and changes in condition
- Maintain compliance with facility policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing
- Minimum of 1–2 years of recent oncology nursing experience
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (ONS preferred or required)
- BLS certification (ACLS preferred depending on assignment)
- Strong IV and venous access skills
- Excellent communication, time management, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to adapt quickly to new clinical settings and workflows
Pay: $2,801.12 - $3,373.39 per week
