Position: Lab Metrology Technician
Location: Madison, WI
Duration: Asap – end of August 2026 (high likelihood of extension)
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Lab Metrology Technician to support calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of laboratory and production equipment. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their career or looking to transition into metrology from a field service, manufacturing, or technical background.
This role plays a key part in ensuring equipment accuracy and reliability to support laboratory and operational activities. Candidates with strong mechanical aptitude, calibration exposure, or equipment troubleshooting experience are encouraged to apply—even without prior healthcare or lab experience.
Key Responsibilities
· Perform calibration, verification, and basic maintenance on equipment such as balances, pipettes, temperature/humidity devices, and other lab or production instruments
· Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform minor mechanical repairs
· Maintain accurate calibration records and documentation
· Assist with scheduling and tracking calibration activities
· Support equipment setup, qualification, and general upkeep
· Partner with internal teams to ensure equipment is functioning properly
· Coordinate with vendors for repairs or advanced servicing as needed
· Follow safety procedures and maintain an organized workspace
Qualifications
· Associate’s degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience (engineering, electronics, manufacturing, etc.)
· 0–2+ years of experience in calibration, equipment maintenance, field service, or manufacturing environments
· Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
· Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
· Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively
Nice to Have (Not Required)
· Prior calibration or metrology experience
· Experience in a regulated environment (GMP, ISO, etc.)
· Familiarity with lab or manufacturing equipment
· Experience using CMMS or similar systems

Pay: $45.00 - $55.00 per hour
