Animal Cancer Care Clinic is Florida’s leader in veterinary oncology, dedicated exclusively to the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. Our Fort Lauderdale wellness center is a premier facility, offering a full spectrum of specialized care, including medical oncology, surgical oncology, clinical trials, and advanced radiation therapy.
We are seeking a highly skilled Radiation Therapist to join our elite team. In this role, you will coordinate, plan, and administer precise radiotherapy to our patients. Utilizing state-of-the-art equipment and sophisticated computer systems, you will ensure every pet receives life-saving treatment in a compassionate, safety-first environment.
Radiation Therapist Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Treatment & Technology
- Advanced Radiotherapy: Operate various radiation therapy machines and CT simulator technology utilizing the latest techniques, including 3D Conformal, IMRT, & SRS/SBRT.
- Treatment Administration: Administer prescribed doses of radiation to specific anatomical locations following strict protocols and oncologist prescriptions.
- Patient Positioning: Accurately position patients for simulation and treatment; prepare or construct custom immobilization and protection devices.
- Radiation Safety: Strictly adhere to and demonstrate radiation safety standards for patients, staff members, and the general public at all times.
Documentation & Coordination:
- Technical Records: Properly document all simulations, treatments, and patient care activities with meticulous attention to detail.
- Team Collaboration: Work seamlessly with our multidisciplinary oncology team to ensure a comprehensive approach to every patient's treatment plan.
Radiation Therapist Qualifications & Requirements:
- Technical Training: Graduate of an Accredited Radiation Therapy School. We highly value candidates with ARRT Registered Technologist (T) certification.
- Experience: Proven experience in a radiation therapy clinic (Human or Veterinary). Candidates must be comfortable with advanced treatment techniques and sophisticated medical software.
- Openness to Learning: For those coming from human medicine, a genuine interest in learning veterinary-specific protocols and animal handling is essential.
- Clinical Mindset: A strong commitment to radiation safety, technical precision, and a compassionate bedside manner for our patients and their families.
- Note on Certification: A Veterinary Technician Certification (CVT) is not required for this role.
