· We’re seeking a Research Assistant to join our DNA Sequencing Team, playing a critical hands-on role in our high-throughput sequencing operations. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who thrives during non-traditional hours and wants to contribute directly to impactful genomic research and custom sequencing projects.
WORK SCHEDULE:
· Primary hours: 8 PM–4 AM, with a one-hour flexibility on either end, Monday - Friday
- Flexibility required: Although this position is currently focused on overnight shifts, actual working hours may be adjusted as business needs change. Weekend work will also be required, and scheduling may be modified accordingly. Therefore, strong adaptability and flexibility are essential for this role.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for sample processing related to Sanger and Nanopore sequencing projects, ensuring speed, accuracy, and reliability.
· Accurately document all experimental steps, results, and deviations.
· Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly to meet turnaround timelines.
· Communicate with customers regarding project needs and sequencing results.
· Collaborate closely with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and team success.
· Carry out additional tasks assigned by the supervisor, and proactively learn new skills to support team and company growth.
· Consistently follow laboratory safety and compliance standards.
· Able to work overnight and weekend shifts.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, or a related field.
· Previous experience in a molecular biology or genomics lab is a plus, but not required. Training will be provided for motivated candidates with strong foundational knowledge.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

· Basic understanding of DNA sequencing technologies and techniques.
· Comfortable working with pipettes, reagents, and biological samples.
· Experience with lab documentation and data entry using spreadsheets.

· Dependable and proactive—especially in a solo or small-team night shift environment.
· Detail-oriented, with a commitment to accuracy and consistency.
· Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
· Willingness to learn and contribute to ongoing process development and innovation.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
