EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
As a Registry Technician, you will perform technical procedures essential to the concurrent duplication and management of cancer data files. Your work will involve executing complex record linkage, multiple primary determination, and data item consolidation while adhering to quality control protocols to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and validity of consolidated records. Utilizing specialized knowledge of medical terminology, disease processes, and established state and national program standards, you will investigate and resolve data discrepancies, recommend appropriate follow-back to reporting facilities, and implement revised criteria to maintain data integrity as national standards evolve. Furthermore, you will monitor facility-specific reporting trends, provide ongoing quality feedback to field staff, and assist in the preparation of data quality analysis reports to support the bureau's public health objectives.Interested in learning more? Additional details regarding this position can be found in the position description.Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per weekWork hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 3 days per week. You may be required to work onsite as dictated by operational and training needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview. This position will have 2 weeks minimum of mandatory on-site training.
