We are seeking a talented Neuroscience Research Scientist to drive innovative research at the forefront of brain science. The successful candidate will design and execute rigorous experiments, analyze complex neural datasets, and translate findings into high-impact publications and novel methodologies. This role demands technical mastery of neuroscience techniques, strong analytical rigor, and collaborative leadership in a multidisciplinary environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (Other Duties may be assigned):
Experimental Design & Execution
- Formulate testable research hypotheses and design robust experimental protocols.
- Conduct hands-on experiments using advanced techniques, including electrophysiology (patch-clamp, EEG), neuroimaging (fMRI, PET, calcium imaging), in vivo models, cell culture, and molecular biology.
- Optimize and troubleshoot experimental workflows for reproducibility and precision.
Method Development & Innovation
- Develop and refine novel experimental methods and analytical pipelines based on research outcomes.
- Integrate cutting-edge tools and technologies to advance study objectives.
Data Analysis & Interpretation
- Perform sophisticated statistical and computational analysis of large-scale neural datasets.
- Utilize specialized software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R, NeuroLucida, Brainstorm, SPM, FSL) for modeling, signal processing, and visualization.
- Accurately document, interpret, and validate all findings in compliance with scientific standards.
Scientific Communication & Knowledge Leadership
- Author and co-author manuscripts for submission to peer-reviewed journals.
- Present research at national and international scientific conferences and symposia.
- Maintain comprehensive laboratory records and contribute to grant proposals.
Collaboration & Mentorship
- Work collaboratively within cross-functional teams (e.g., bioinformatics, clinical research, engineering).
- Mentor graduate students, research assistants, and junior lab members.
- Stay current with the latest neuroscience literature and emerging methodologies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Master’s degree or higher in Neuroscience, Neurobiology, Psychology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field (required).
- Ph.D. strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant scientific discipline accepted with exceptional research experience.
Research Experience
- Proven track record in independent experimental design, execution, and data analysis.
- Hands-on expertise with specialized neuroscience techniques, including:
- Electrophysiology (in vitro/in vivo recording)
- Neuroimaging (functional/structural MRI, optical imaging)
- In vivo behavioral models (rodent surgery, optogenetics, chemogenetics)
- Molecular and cellular assays (immunohistochemistry, qPCR, Western blot)
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis and modeling software (e.g., MATLAB, Python, R, Igor Pro, EEGLAB).
- Experience operating and maintaining specialized laboratory equipment (e.g., two-photon microscopes, electrophysiology rigs).
- Familiarity with machine learning applications in neuroscience is a plus.
